Many have heard that Friday the 13th can be a scary day.  According to urban legend, the sixth day of the week and the number 13 both have foreboding reputations said to date from ancient times. Their inevitable conjunction from one to three times a year portends more misfortune than some credulous minds can bear.  So if you make it to Saturday, you are doing okay.  Did you know that there was also a movie made about Saturday the 14th?

SaturdaythefourteenthIt currently has a two-star rating: Saturday the 14th. Although it’s not highly rated, I’ve always enjoyed this movie as it pokes fun at horror.  The point is that nothing is as bad as it seems and even if it is, eventually it will end one way or another.  It’s amazing how we can become so focused on a point in time that we fail to understand that whatever the issue is, its outcome is not absolute and time changes perception.  So if your day is not going as planned and things seem to be spinning out of control, take comfort in knowing that the day after Friday the 13th is a day to celebrate.. making it through many of life’s storms.
